Most Integrated Setting Coordinating Council, run by Kim Hill, the Chief Disability Officer.
An opportunity to hear what the State is doing to ensure access to services, for all special populations, including Developmental Disabilities.
And, an opportunity to weigh in during public comment about what obstacles we are encountering.
Current MISCC policy is to let anyone speak during public comments.

Family Employment Awareness Training
The Queens Special Needs Program of the
Chinese-American Planning Council is offering a
special 2-day training called Family Employment
Awareness Training (FEAT). This training is
designed for parents, families, and individuals
with disabilities (age: 14+). The training will be in
English and lunch will be provided.

Why: The Federal government requires that NYS assess everyone getting services from OPWDD. How will we know that they are doing a good job of assessing? What are the options if they don't?

The Care Can't Wait Bus Tour is making its way across the country advocating for quality, accessible aging, disability and child care across the country.
Their NYC stop, at SEIU 1199 in Manhattan at 11:30 AM on August 29th
They are in Syracuse the day before.

The Care Can't Wait Bus Tour is making its way across the country advocating for quality, accessible aging, disability and child care across the country.
This is their upstate New York stop, at Clinton Square in Syracuse at 3PM.
They are in NYC on the 29th.

Help create a roadmap to more housing options for people with I/DD in NYS at the Local Leaders Workshop. The results of a comprehensive Housing Analysis consisting of responses from over 500 stakeholders in Rochester will be presented. We will introduce viable housing options, review data, analyze trends, and engage in collaborative discussions.
